Why You Should Come To Whistler In February

Whistler is the perfect holiday destination. Surrounded by the Coast Mountains, with spectacular views in every direction, you won’t be stuck for things to do. You may be wondering when the best time come to Whistler is? February offers great snow and lots of fun activities for you to enjoy. Here’s why you should come to Whistler now and what events are on.

Great Snow & Everything’s Open

With 2 mountains to choose from and 4757 acres of skiable terrain, Whistler is the largest ski resort in North America. This time of year, not only is there great snow but also everything is open. Unlike early season where some lifts are dependant on the snowfall before they can open, you can choose which lifts to ski. You have the opportunity to find the best snow but also can avoid the lift lines by getting the Epic Mix app and skiing the lifts with the shortest lineups!

Whistler is always full of great events for you to enjoy, whatever time of year you come. You can watch Canada’s favourite sport with the Roger’s Hometown Hockey Tour, this February. A fun weekend for all the family, enjoy hockey-related games, live music and meet NHL hockey alumni! Head down to the Olympic Plaza on February 9 & 10.

Fun for the kids

Take your kids to the best after-skiing activity at Family Après. Experience lots of fun games, music, activities and snacks every Monday and Wednesday from 3-6pm in the Olympic Plaza. Head down to the Skiers Plaza at 7 pm every Sunday for the Fire and Ice Show and watch your kids marvel at the impressive skiers and snowboards performing tricks while jumping through a burning ring of fire!

Bobsleigh Championships

Did you know, the Whistler Bobsleigh track is the fastest of its kind in the world? Head up to the Whistler sliding center and watch top Canadian athletes zoom around the track for the BCS Canadian Championships 2019 – Bobsleigh & Skeleton on February 1 & 2.

Kokanee Valley Race Series

Want to try out racing for yourself? This valentine’s day, fall in love with ski racing with the Kokanee Valley Race Series. No race experience is required for this fun, recreational ski event.
