To protect Whistler and it’s surroundings, we at the Listel Hotel, have worked hard to ensure that many of our practices are eco-friendly. But what does it mean for a hotel to be eco-friendly? Green practices are those that are ecological beneficial or at least, not harmful to the environment. Taking it one step further, here is what being eco-friendly means to the Listel Hotel.
Our Mission
Hotels can be a large source of waste and consumers of energy. Our mission is to reduce our carbon footprint through initiatives all throughout the hotel. You may notice signs around your room that encourage green actions. We are proud to hold a 3 Green Key rating from the Hotel Association of Canada which assists and recognizes efforts in reducing environmental impact.
Green Key Rating
Green Key Global is the only environmental certification body designed for the hotel and meeting industry and is recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The certification board also provides a wealth of resources on how to decrease utility consumption, waste, and emissions, helping us reach our green goals.
