Best Water Related Activities In Whistler

Whistler is full of amazing activities to keep anyone entertained, whatever the season. With 5 Lakes, there’s plenty of options for everyone on the water. Here are our favourite ways to play on the lake in Whistler.

Float the River of Golden Dreams

The River of Golden Dreams connects Alta Lake to Green Lake. Choose your mode of transport – kayak, canoe or Explorer 200 and float down the river. Sit in your boat and take in the beauty of the mountains around you. You’ll find it hard to believe you’re not dreaming.

Paddleboard – with your dog

If you think it doesn’t get much more fun than paddle boarding, why don’t you try it with your dog? You can rent a board from Backroads Whistler at Lakeside Park and cruise around Alta Lake. Your furry friend will love trying to balance as much as you will.

Whitewater Rafting

If your sense of adventure is getting the better of you, Whitewater Rafting is for you. Challenge yourself with the rapids at either Green River or Cheakamus River. Thrill seekers will have no complaints!

Kayak

Anyone who wants to get some exercise in can rent a kayak and paddle your way across the lake. Explore the wonders of Alta Lake further by paddling all the way across.

Fishing

Fishing trips are perfect for anyone who wants to sit peacefully and enjoy the tranquillity the mountains have to offer. Head out with a knowledgeable guide who will pick you up right from your accommodation. If you’ve left your fishing gear behind, don’t worry – all tours include equipment.

Eagle Float Tours

A great alternative for those who aren’t looking for anything strenuous. See dozens of eagles as you enjoy a relaxing float tour. Tours go from Squamish and provide you with lunch too.

Take a Float Plane Tour

Although you may argue this isn’t watersports related, float plane tours are a top experience for anyone coming to Whistler. Escape the village and take off in a small place from Green Lake. You can soar up in the clouds, fly right next to glaciers and even see Black Tusk super close up. You even get a stunning view of the lake before you land on it.

Whenever your plans this summer, Whistler offers an abundance of options both on and off the water. Here at the Listel Hotel Whistler, we are close to all the lakes.
