Your Unofficial Whistler Pride Guide

Whistler Pride and Ski Festival is an annual event that welcomes gay and lesbian visitors from over 26 countries to Whistler. Many would agree that Pride is one of the most fun events on the Whistler social calendar with parties, entertainment, and of course epic skiing and riding on Whistler Blackcomb jam packed into a week of fun. Gay or straight, Whistler Pride is not to be missed. At Listel Hotel, we are in the heart of the action in Whistler Village. Here is our unofficial guide to Whistler Pride. Enjoy!

The Parties

The parties are the highlight of Pride Week for many. Every night of the festival there are top-notch parties with themes and venues that will blow your mind. The festival kick-off party Avalanche will be held at Vancouver’s Encore Dance Club featuring award winning DJ and Producer Alain Jackinsky. Starting the event with style this opening party will be a prelude for the fun to come. Other party highlights of the festival include:

January 25th – Long John Party – Mojos

Whistler’s biggest pyjama party! Dance the night away in your favorite PJs.

January 26th – Cowboy Party – Buffalo Bills

A taste of the Wild Wild West. Get your cowboy gear on and lasso yourself a stallion or filly!

January 27th – Varsity Party – Garfinkles

Support your team at this sports themed varsity party. This is the “Oh snow she didn’t!” after party.

January 28th – Splash Pool Party – Meadow Park Sports Centre

It’s a pool party! Always a favourite at Whistler Pride. With cash bar and DJ Del Stamp.

January 29th – WhiteOUT – Garfinkles

It’s a house party! Wear white and dance the night away with dynamic rhythms and deep house drums.

January 30th – SnowBall – Whistler Conference Centre

The final celebration! Mega sounds, incredible visuals and stunning go-go’s in a massive space.

The Adventure

Make sure to leave some energy for adventure activities which run each day throughout the festival. Every morning guests can join Whistler Pride Ski Guides for a morning of skiing and riding. Small groups of similar skill levels will be matched with a guide to explore the vast terrain on Whistler/ Blackcomb. Be at the light-board at the Peak to Peak Gondola on Whistler Mountain by 10am to be matched with a group. Other adventure activities taking place during the festival include:

January 26th – Natural Mystic Snow Shoe Tour – The Adventure Group

January 27th – Superfly Zipline – The Adventure Group

January 28th – Trailblazer Snowmobile Tour – The Adventure Group

January 30th – Superfly Ziplines Tour – The Adventure Group

The Entertainment

The Pride event schedule is jammed pack with entertainment to be enjoyed. Each afternoon Après ski parties are held at pubs and bars across Whistler from 3pm. Some not to miss events at this year’s Pride include:

January 27th – Oh No She Didn’t – Whistler Conference Centre

A comedy/ drag show featuring four of America’s frostiest ice queens!

January 29th – Furrocious Military Ball – Whistler Conference Centre

One of the week’s most popular events, get your uniform on and party the night away

January 30th – Annual Pride Ski Parade – Base II Blackcomb Mountain

With rainbows everywhere the pride parade is a must-attend event
