This Sunday, Whistler is hosting the 27th Annual Pride and Ski Festival! A celebration of pride and diversity, this is one of the biggest festivals of its kind in North America. You can enjoy lots of fun events, whether you’re gay or straight. Here’s our guide to pride and the top events to go to.
Whistler Pride SkiOUT and March
Friday January 25th – 3.30pm – 5.00pm
You don’t want to miss the signature pride event. Starting at mid-station on Whistler Mountain, join skiers in colourful outfits, larger than life pride flags and awesome costumes, descending on Whistler Mountain. The parade ends at the Conference Center in Whistler Village, where you can join in the T-Dance. Get free entry before 6 pm and enjoy drinks and dancing.
Sip n Dip
Tuesday 22th January – 9.30pm – 11.30pm
Here’s the Scandanave Spa – but with a twist! Visit the world-class Spa and enjoy drinks and music from DJ Foxy Moron in the Pavilion. Enjoy the tranquillity of the traditional baths and spa treatments, before or during the event. A free shuttle is available from the Aava Hotel, just minutes from the Listel Hotel. Guided Ski and Snowboard Mountain Tours
Daily – From 9.45 am
Putting the Ski in the Pride and Ski Festival, these free mountain tours are the perfect way for you to enjoy the mountains and meet like-minded people. The tours alternate each day between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, so you can take advantage of being at the largest ski resort in North America. Meet at the top of Whistler Mountain at 9.45 am by the Roundhouse for Whistler Tours which run Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Blackcomb tours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and meet at the top of Glacier and Jersey Cream at the same time.
SNOWBALL Massive Main Event Closing Party
Saturday 26 January 10 pm -4 pm
Put on your dancing shoes and dance the night away at this one of a kind closing party at the Conference Center. Whistler Pride has teamed up with Galactic Entertainment to create the spectacular Snowball Massive Closing party. With music from Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Abel Aguilera and opening set by DJ Landan James, you’ll be guaranteed a good time. The event runs until 4 am and tickets can be purchased here.
