Wondering what the best way to spend New Year’s Eve in Whistler is? With a variety of events for all the family, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Start the festivities as soon as you come down from the mountain with events starting from 12pm. Here’s your guide to the top New Year’s Eve events in Whistler and how to make the most out of your night!

Family Après

Start your New Year’s Eve at noon by heading down to the Olympic Plaza for Family Après. Perfect for those who want to wrap the night up early, the kids will be wowed by live music, face painting, hula hooping, and characters in costume. There’s also snacks and games to keep the whole family entertained. Right next to the ice rink, you can finish your après with a skate. Admission is free and skate rentals are available for $6.

The Whistler Holiday Experience

From noon until 7, there’s fun indoor activities in the conference center – perfect for those who want to keep warm after a day outside. A range of free activities are on offer for both kids and parents, including: bouncy castles, a mini putt course, tables games, crafts and video games. Parents can also relax in the lounge with the hot cocoa while the kids play.

8pm Firework Show

Can’t quite make it to midnight for the Fireworks? Fear not – you can catch a firework show at 8pm in the Skier’s Plaza, with the High Flying Snow show at 7.30pm. Perfect for if you need to wrap up the night early to take your little ones to bed.

Fireworks

Bring in the New Year with a bang and head down to the Skier’s Plaza at 11.30pm for a special edition of the Fire and Ice Show. Wait for the countdown while watching  Whistler Blackcomb Ski School instructors hit the big jumps, and fly through a burning ring of fire. The show ends at midnight where you can see in the New Year with a fantastic firework display.

Not Finished?

For those of you who aren’t ready to finish your night there, GLC’s New Year’s Eve Party hosted by Ciroc Vodka runs until 3am. It offers front row seats for the fireworks- plus a welcome drink and a bubbly toast at midnight. Or party at Maxx Fish Nightclub and enjoy a complimentary toast at midnight and an after midnight buffet courtesy of La Bocca Restaurant and Bar.
