How To Make The Most Of The Whistler Farmer’s Market

The Whistler Farmer’s Market is another wonderful part of summer in Whistler. Every Sunday and Wednesday during July and August, vendors selling local artisan goods, produce and food take over the upper village stroll. The vendors are required to adhere to a strict made, baked or grown in B.C policy allowing locals and resort guests alike to enjoy the regional bounty. Every sense will be tantalized as you stroll and interact in the festival atmosphere. Get ready to walk away with your arms, belly and heart full after we disclose how to make the most of the Whistler Farmer’s Market

Plan to spend a few hours

It’s best to allocated a full morning, afternoon or day to visiting the Farmer’s Market. With so much to see, do and taste, you will find time just slips aways.

Walk, bike or bus

There is limited parking right next to the market, however, lots 4 and 5 are located just a short walk away. What’s more, there are a number of bus routes that run right by the upper village including the free Lost Lake and Upper Village/Benchlands shuttle. If you would prefer to ride your bike, The Whistler Farmer’s Market is proud to offer a free, secured bike valet that is a new service in 2017.

Bring a bag

Do your arms a favour and come prepared with a bag! Hand-made soap, jewellery, textiles, and art are just a few of the things that you may end up taking home with you.

Come hungry, leave full

There are 30+ opportunities to eat while strolling the market so we would advise to come on an empty stomach! Don’t worry, there are plenty of spots to rest and let your food digest before visiting the next vendor. If you would like to take in the atmosphere from afar, the patios of Merlins, Milestones and Portobellos line the market.

Bring the whole family

Kids, dogs, you name it- the market is truly for everyone.

Get ready to be entertained

Not only are there vendors, there is a ton of entertainment too. Enjoy the acoustic sounds of local artists filling the air as you walk around. To burn off the extra energy you may have acquired from all the food, the Family Adventure Zone is also located right next to the market at the base of Blackcomb. Here, the family will be able to enjoy mini-golf, the Westcoaster Slide, balloon slide, bouncy castle and more!

Enjoy walking through the numerous vendors, listening to live music and eating delicious food- the Whistler Farmer’s market is a wonderful experience for everyone. With these helpful tips, you’ll leave feeling like you ate and shopped to your hearts content. Book your stay in Whistler and then add this activity into your schedule!
