Labor Day Long Weekend

Labor Day Long Weekend marks the final long weekend of the summer. It offers a chance to welcome in the next season while providing a bittersweet farewell to the warm summer months we all know and love. The last hurrah before school starts and vacations end should be filled with nothing but fun- Luckily, Whistler has a ton of activities happening this weekend, making it the perfect way to end summer with a bang!

Salomon Valley to Peak

Cheer on the participants or grab your running shoes and sign up for this adventurous trail running event. Taking place on September 3rd, the Salomon Valley to Peak trail running race challenges it’s contenders to a vertical climb up Whistler mountain and an exploration of the stunning, view filled hiking trails Whistler is known for. The race starts at 8:30am and friends & family can upload at 8:45am or join in for 3pm awards at the Roundhouse.

Mountaintop BBQ Series

It’s the last weekend to enjoy a BBQ on top of the world. To “top” it all off, Whistler Blackcomb has gone out of it’s way to make a spectacular final menu. So head over to guest services and get your ticket to the meal with all the views and all the tasty BBQ possibilities. Too bad you will have to wait until next year to enjoy it again!

Outdoor Concert Series

Of course there must be music in the mountains to send off summer! The Outdoor Concert Series continues this weekend with performances on Friday and Saturday evening. Round up friends and family to take in these incredible artists while sitting under the stars.

ArtWalk Opening Weekend

Starting September 1st and carrying on through until November 30th, Whistler becomes a giant art gallery. Cafes, hotels, restaurants and galleries all showcase the various work of local artists. From graffiti to water colour to photography, the unique mediums and stunning work of the Whistler artists will keep you walking from one location to the next. Just follow the red flags. In case you see something you like, the work of each artist is available for sale.

Whistler All Terrain Moto Expo

Taking place in the Callaghan Olympic Park on September 3rd and 4th, the All Terrain Moto Expo showcases all things off road for the off-road enthusiasts. This event is the first of it’s kind to take place in Whistler. Event activities include: demo rides, air bag to try your own tricks on, BBQ & beer garden, stunt shows and a shuttle from Whistler. All proceeds go to the Canadian/American Spinal Research Organization and Shoot for a Cure program.

Don’t let the end of summer get you down. Spend the last weekend of it in Whistler and start your fall off on the right foot. Make sure to book ahead, long weekends are a busy time here in town and we wouldn’t want you to miss out on the Labor Day Long Weekend fun!
