A Foodie’s Guide To Whistler

Whistler lies in between the farms of Pemberton and the waters of the Howe Sound. This location is optimal for fresh ingredients and menu inspiration, making the resort’s food scene something to be acquainted with. Now, your first thought might be that many menu options are built around fueling the hungry skier but quite the contrary, this mountain town’s dining experience has something to please even the most palate savvy foodie. So get your forks out and be prepared to indulge with our foodie’s guide to Whistler!

Breakfast

Green Mustache

Fuel your body with good food at the Green Mustache. A local company, Green Mustache operates under the premise of providing tasty super foods. Don’t surprised if you have a hard time choosing from the array of tasty menu items, everything looks good!

Foodie Favourite: Start your day off on the right foot with a Smoothie Bowl-  A smoothie blended with oats and topped with seeds, coconut flakes, goji berries, chia seeds, apples, and cinnamon!

Crepe Montagne

It’s no wonder there is a line up outside of this cozy restaurant. The french cuisine can be enjoyed over a piping hot cup of coffee and it’s atmosphere almost makes you feel as if you have stepped out of the mountains and into the Parisian streets.

Foodie Favourite:  The Rockies Savoury Crepe will fill you up till lunch with its homemade buckwheat crepe and two eggs, ham and ooey gooey cheese topping.

Ski to your heart’s content and then step into a full-service dining prepared with the freshest of ingredients and 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. How does that sound for an experience?

Foodie Favourite: All that skiing will leave you hungry and the Confit Lamb Shoulder will satisfy your taste buds as it marries the flavors of tomato, rosemary, coco bean, white anchovy and mustard crum.

Handle Bar Cafe and Bistro

Located right at the base of Blackcomb, the Handle Bar Cafe is a popular feed and hang out spot. Beer is its specialty but the selection of sausages makes for a mouthwatering pairing.

Foodie Favourite: The Wild Boar with Apple sausage, potato salad, and truffle ketchup speaks for itself!

Garibaldi Lift Company

A bustling patio right at the base of Whistler Mountain makes it a perfect place to take in the resort’s atmosphere while indulging in delicious and casual gourmand.

Foodie Favourite: The Signature Nacho Platter might not seem exciting enough for a foodie but trust us, with Fresh jalapeños, diced tomatoes, banana peppers, green onions, black olives, covered in Monterey jack and cheddar cheese served with picante salsa, sour cream, and guacamole, it really is a delectable plate!

Dinner

Bearfoot Bistro

Located in the Listel Hotel, The Bearfoot Bistro strives to create a culinary journey surrounding local ingredients creatively used.

Foodie Favourite: The 5 Course Dining Menu will allow you to fully experience the divine combinations of food prepared by Chef Melissa Craig.

Beacon Pub and Eatery

Not your traditional pub, The Beacon Pub and Eatery prides themselves on making everything from scratch. Their beer may not be made in house but it is also locally sourced!

Foodie Favourite: We had to include the taste explosion otherwise known as the Beacon Burger on  our list- Charred Wagyu beef, aged white cheddar cheese, pickled jalapenos, Steamworks Pale Ale braised onions, arugula, mustard aioli, all piled high on a pretzel bun. Don’t get caught licking your fingers after thus burger.
