In commemoration of this special anniversary, there are a number of celebrations happening across the country and in Whistler. Special dinners, scavenger hunts, and unique events will be held throughout the year but in particular, around Canada Day on July 1st. In true Whistler fashion, it’s going to be a celebratory month and it’s definitely one to be part of. We’ve got the lowdown on celebrating Canada 150 in Whistler!
The Bearfoot Bistro
The Bearfoot Bistro will be hosting a long table dinner party at the Whistler Golf Club to celebrate like Canada’s founding fathers. The dinner will feature a champagne reception, outdoor feast with confederation inspired menu, live entertainment and an after-party at the Barefoot Bistro!
Tourism Whistler will be celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday all year long. Participate in the following activities to help celebrate!
Get a hold of a copy of their scavenger hunt, take photos of items on the list and remember to share them on social media, tagging @GoWhistler and using the hashtags #OnlyInWhistler and #Canada150. Once you’ve found 20 or more items, take your scavenger hunt form, and proof of your shared images, to the Whistler Visitor Centre to receive a themed prize!
Follow @GoWhistler on Instagram and watch as they enlist travellers and locals alike in a random break out of Oh Canada.
Fly to Whistler on a floatplane and you might be lucky enough to ride in a red-and-white Otter or Beaver floatplane.
