Whether it’s to enjoy a mid-day cocktail or an evening glass of wine after a full day of adventuring in the sun, there’s nothing like summertime on a patio. The summer season in Whistler is a great time of year and luckily there are quite a few patios that are perfect for soaking in the sun. Not only do Whistler’s patios offer just stellar drink lists and excellent food menus, but most also offer great views of the breathtaking landscape that surrounds our mountain town.
Here are a few of our favourite patios in Whistler:
Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC)
Located right at the base of Whistler Mountain, the Garibaldi Lift Company, or as the locals call it, the GLC, offers some great views of the Village and the downhill bike park. Offering daily drink specials and a tasty menu, the GLC is a great spot to hang out. During events such as Crankworx and the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, the GLC is definitely the best seat in the Village to watch all of the action.
Dubh Linn Gate
Another patio in and amongst the action of the Village is located at the Dubh Linn Gate. This Irish pub offers one of the best beer menus in Whistler Village and happy hour prices three times a day. The food menu boasts both traditional Irish fare and classic pub finger foods. An outdoor fire pit on the large patio will keep you cozy into the evening. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes because there is often live music and dancing is always encouraged!
Merlin’s Bar and Grill
If you’re looking for laid-back apres, head to Merlin’s Bar and Grill in the Upper Village. Located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, this cabin-themed venue offers a large sunny patio. The drink menu is impressive with a large variety of beers, wine and cocktails and a few unique takes on the Canadian classic, the Caesar. The food menu features casual pub food which includes the biggest tray of nachos you’ve ever seen!
Just north of the Village, at Nicklaus North Golf Course is Table 19. This serene patio offers beautiful views of the golf greens, the surrounding mountains and Green Lake. A well-stacked drink menu compliments a delicious food menu featuring local ingredients. A daily happy hour and rotating weekly food features will keep you coming back to this hidden gem.
These are just a few of the many great patios in Whistler to enjoy!
